Switzerland Shocks Italy, Advances to Euro 2024 Quarterfinals
Date: Saturday, 29 June 2024.
Stadium: Olympiastadion | Berlin
The Swiss went up to the 16th floor as the first group's championshipist, where he opened his tournament by winning the 3-1 galactic championship, making a tie with Scotland 2.2, and a tie with Germany 1.1, while the Italian team went up to the 16th floor after he took second place in the second group, opening his match by winning Albania 2.1 and then losing to Spain for a clean purpose, before last minute he evened with Croatian 1-1 in the last round.
Holder of title outside the Euro!
After losing to Switzerland, the Italian-elected Cup of European Nations (Euro 2024) was paid the final price (0.2) at the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
The Swiss owes credit for this victory to the star Robin Vargas, who made the first goal and scored the second with skill so that the red team would qualify for the final quarter.
Switzerland, which has not yet received any loss of championship, awaits the winner of the face of England and Slovakia at the eight-year tournament next Saturday.
It's going downstairs.
The team of coach Murat Yakin deserved to qualify well after he was a big risk in the first half of the goal of guard Gianluji Dunarum, and he had what he wanted and advanced before the second goal came in the first minute of the second half.
It can be said that the Swiss team has done everything in football during the first half, using the 3.4.3 plan, imposing absolute control over play, thanks to the distinctive spread of the players over the limbs, as well as the great ability to recover the ball and the intense presence in the enemy's penalty area. On the other hand, the Italian party elected seemed certainly the weakest, failing to control the ball, and the gaps in its defense were evident, along with the lack of individual capabilities and harmony and the lack of risk in the few attempts to threaten Sumer's goal with renegade attacks.
Match review
Katinacho Yakinja, in the second half, found Spaletti forced to attack, but the replacements were no better off than in the first half, although Swiss players retreated to the back. Yakin adopted a 5.4.1 plan in the defensive situation, closing all the exits to the stars of Italy, who failed to enter the danger zones, as they did in the face of Croatia's recent group role.
The most dangerous opportunity for Italy at the match, vertically from the Swiss guns, hit the left-hand list of guard Sumer and almost rocked the window with a fatal mistake, which could have brought the Azari back to the game, but luck only came to those who deserved it. Yakin's team outstripped offensively in the first half and defensively in the second half and deserved to end Italy's curse and win the Azari for the first time in 31 years.
Make a statue for Manchini
Now everybody's talking about the lack of talent in Italian football and coach Spalletti's suffering in choosing a competitive list for the biggest title in Europe. But many ignore what Azari did only three years ago under the leadership of Coach Roberto Mancini, who adopted a different method that enabled him to be on the coronation platforms, thanks to his ability to make a powerful combination of teamwork
