Israel’s Deadly Night of Terror in Khan Younis

Israeli forces heavily shelled and bombed the vicinity of Nasser Hospital, the main medical facility in southern Gaza's Khan Younis, on Tuesday night, killing at least 23 people.

A Palestinian taking shelter with his family in the hospital described a night of terror and chaos, as Israeli jets and tanks pummelled areas nearby.

Residents say Israeli forces razed a cemetery and stole several bodies.

The death toll of Palestinians killed in Gaza since war broke out on 7 October now stands at 24,448.

At least 61,504 people have been wounded in the besieged territory over that period, while thousands of others are missing and likely to be dead under the rubble.

The U.N. secretary-general says Gaza faces “the long shadow of starvation” and the risk of disease outbreaks because of barriers to delivering vital aid.

He blamed the inability to meet Gaza’s growing humanitarian needs on widespread bombardment, barriers to entering the territory and restrictions on distribution inside of it – all under Israel’s control.

He said he was “deeply troubled by the clear violation of international humanitarian law that we are witnessing”.
